It was DTE who hired them, not me.

I filed a complaint when my underground sprinkler system was damaged by one of their crews. I sent them the bill for the repairs and they reimbursed me completely.

Initially, we were contacted by a sales person. She was awesome, but apparently retired. Then we had a man calling us. He was obnoxious, rude and pushy. We went to ordering directly, taking out the salesman. Love the product. It helps keep our septic system healthy and our drains clear. Very happy we can deal direct.

VERY aggressive sales people

We have been buying Miller Septic products for a long time. We have enough to last at least one more year. Unfortunately, the sales person who constantly calls us is abusing his position with the company. We got (4) FOUR calls right in a row after telling him we are all set. He got aggressive and started yelling at me. I actually had to block his calls from my phone. NEVER EVER AGAIN will we use this company.

They double billed me. I've called several times over the last three months. Each time I get a lady that gives me excuses and assurances. They asked me not to turn them in to my credit card company. Even had the gall to try to sell me more product. It is my understanding that their rating with the BBB is very bad. Makes me wonder about the quality of the product they sell.

To add to the discussion

I recently learned that I have been dealing with 2 separate companies that sell Septic Helper 2000. I have also bought product from both of them, not realizing it wasn't just one company. What I learned is that the original inventor of the product is Mr. Miller who is in New Jersey. Mr. Plant passed away, and I was told that his wife cut salaries in half. From what I can tell, the company in New Jersey is now just Miller and they sell Septic Helper 2000 in the buckets with the scoop. Miller-Plante is in Florida and they sell Septic Helper 2000 in individual bags. Not sure when the split happened (obviously after the death of Mr. Plante).

User's recommendation: I havve been using the product for at least 10 years and have had no problem with my septic system. I think the customer service problems arose when there was a split in management.

We have been with this company, I think as far back as when it started (over 20 years). The products work for us. Never needed to have or septic tank pumped!

Great product, great customer service, aggressive, noxious post sales nuisance calls;

In 1990, I purchased Septic Helper 2000 for the first time. It came in 5 oz plastic bags, packed in a cardboard container. During transit, several bags broke open. I reported this to Customer Service and promptly received another full order. This shipping carton was also damaged, three bags were broken. Called Customer Service again and again promptly received another full order. This one came intact. I now had on hand three cases of SH 2000. In 2002 we sold our Ohio property and moved to rural Florida. The sale was contingent on the condition of our septic system that was 80 years old. During the twenty years we lived in that house we had the septic tank pumped twice, the last time when we had a sale pending. According to my records, our tank had not been pumped for ten years. I asked the technician when he thought the tank had been pumped last, he said three years before. There was no cake or sludge that had to be broken up. If I had any doubts about the efficacy of SH 2000, they were banished. Now on 1-1-19, I have only two four-ounce treatments left from the original order. I use it monthly as directed. However, about a month after I received my first shipment in 1990, I began to get weekly telephone calls from MPI that were high-pressure mostly lies urging me to buy new and improved SH 2000 to replace the inferior quality product I had just received with the new, superior formula. After the second call, I told the salesman to remove me from their call list. That fell on deaf ears and I continued to receive those noxious calls. I finally resorted to rude, name calling mixed with the best of the profanity I had learned when in the service. It took two more of these nasty exchanges to stop these calls.

The Septic Helper 2000 is the best product on the market! But their sales team is horrible! Been using it for over 20 years and haven’t had problems since I started but just like others the sales calls prevented me from ordering again...I bought a 25 year supply the first time...Same as others the salesman now say the product is old and I need to rebuy...luckily I changed phone numbers and they stopped calling...don’t know what I’ll do when I run out of product

You are wasting your money! I have had septic systems for 40 years and never needed to have one pumped!

Dump some RidX in every couple of years, don't put any grease or heavy paper down your drains and use only 1 ply toilet paper! You will never need it pumped, my parents had septic for 50 years and never needed it pumped, with a family of 6! Just take care of it.

This advice was given to them by their neighbor who owned the septic pumping company! it works, you don't need expensive products!

My father was a civil engineer, specializing in sewage and wastewater treatment. He had a passion - yes, passion - for sludge.

My house is on a septic system in a watershed area, so I care a lot about the efficiency of our system. We found a box of this old stuff in my in-laws’ basement, and are using it just because we have it and want to use it up. That said, it’s not needed. Dad’s very practical advice: 1.

Avoid having (or using) a garbage disposal. Consider composting instead. Absolutely do not put meat, grease, fat, banana peels (they breakdown very slowly) down a drain or disposal. 2.

Minimize use of bleach in laundry. Try oxyclean or other similar products to whiten. Bleach alters the breakdown of solids in your tank. 3.

Avoid phosphate in all cleaners, especially for toilets, laundry, dishwasher, sink/dishes. Phosphate has long-reaching impacts for septic and water aquifers. Try baking soda and natural cleaners. Avoid avoid the “toilet blue” or other cleaning tablets that sit in your toilet tanks.

4. Minimize non-biological solid waste in toilets (feminine products, toilet paper, tissue paper). Don’t use a lot of TP, minimize use of hygiene wipes or toss them instead of flushing them, and choose TP that breaks down easily or requires less to use. 5.

Choose low-flush or dual-flush (one for solids, one for liquids) toilets, high-efficiency clothes washers and dishwashers. The difference is significant. The upfront cost of an HE washer or dishwasher is more than made up by keeping your water system running well. A typical dishwasher uses 19 gallons per cycle.

Ours (Bosch) uses 8. 6. When buying a dishwasher, beware. Some dishwashers have grinders (like garbage disposals) in them.

Not only do they cost more to repair, they use more water and send more solids to your tank. Others have a strainer that we empty about once a month or so. Fewer working parts, lasts longer, uses less water, and sends less gunk going to our tank. 7.

Have your tank pumped every 5-7 years. It costs about $150-200.

A new system costs thousands. Avoid scams - just be “septic smart.” Your sewage and water system will be grateful, and last longer!

We are having trouble with Miller-Products, Inc.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We are receiving calls to see if we need more of the septic chemicals. We sent the last order back to the company with a death certificate of my mother.

We are still getting calls wanting to send another order. I tried to tell the guy that called today and he got rude. I called the company to complain, got number off the invoice. I was told that it must have one of the other companies.

She said she would put a note in computer. I have been told that before and still get calls.

Does this company communicate with it's other offices. The number I called 204- 943-**** out of Cliffside Park in New Jersey.

I am also having problems with Miller-Products of Cliffside Park, NJ. They recently sent some of their 'miracle' septic tank chemical, unordered, again.

They sent some 4 years ago when my father ws alive. I called them, took over 3 minutes for them to answer the phone. They tell me they are reputable business, not sure I believe that. I informed them that the product was not ordered.

After they find it, they tell me that Delmar spoke with, and cited by name, on a day just a week before. I informed them that that was interesting, as Delmar died in September of 2015.

I am the only one living here and I did not place the order. After I threatened to report them to the Attorney General, and reminded them that Federal law is against them, they told me not to pay for the product. I did return it to the Post Office for return, as I did not want the stuff.

Miller won't stop calling

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My dad passed away, and finding papers from Miller in his files, i called them to see if we owed them money, explaining that my dad had just died. We did not owe them, but then they called every week for the next 3 months as I was getting my mom ready to move.

Each time, they asked to speak to my dad by name. They wanted him to rate their product. Each time, I told them my dad had died and I did not know about their product. They would apologize and tell me they would remove his name, but the next week, they would call again.

Always the same voice. Then they started sending junk mail.

It was very stressful to my mom. These people are very pushy and do not know when to quit.

Miller Plante - OMG STOP CALLING US!!!! - Image 2
This is seriously a tragedy, This company has a GOOD product.. the Marketing division, however, is Horrible at best. THE CALLS... they just keep coming . The gimmicks that all the product I formerly purchased and still have on hand is now bad???? So after God knows how many repeat calls to ask specifically for my husband Grrrrr. He did purchase more. Now we are set for Life. When these Bozo's call, HANG up.. Block their calls. Now they use private numbers when calling, I suppose this is because they are getting harassing phone calls back. Anyway I still owe them my last payment of $44.78 and even after repeated requests to STOP CALLING US.. they call monthly if not bi-monthly. I figure its time to have a little fun with them. I'll hold my last payment until they stop calling, may send them a $ month or heck I may send them $44.78 worth back and call it even. I have some extra time today so maybe I'll Share this complaint on every site I can find. Maybe they will get the message. Nothing like running a long time /good client off. Look at all the Different types they said we needed. Same home 13 yrs. zeesh... PLL do your homework. Get a new marketing tactic! BTW I'm a Sr. Marketing Manager. Cant make this stuff up...Gotta love it!
